MSI’s ANZ Local Members Meeting Held in Sydney Proved Great Success

MSI’s ANZ Local Members Meeting Held in Sydney Proved Great Success
The Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Group within MSI meet twice each year, and MSI's member firms in Sydney hosted the recent meeting, held towards the end of March. In addition to the local members, MSI Directors James Mendelssohn and Werner Kuhfuss attended, together with Charles Hornor from Melbourne consultancy StrategyCo, who provides marketing support to the ANZ members. One of the highlights of the meeting was the opportunity for firms to meet the new Sydney CBD law firm, Makinson & d’Apice, who joined MSI at the beginning of the year. Their primary contact partner, Nancy Bramley-Moore, attended the meeting sessions and she was joined at the dinners by a number of her partners, who all got an insight into the workings of the MSI ANZ region. In addition, led by Alec Blacklaw of Perth firm Marsdens, the accountant members spent the day ahead of the full meeting discussing areas of possible cooperation – a session that the members found particularly helpful. On the day of the meeting itself, Alec presented a business plan for the ANZ region. This was warmly endorsed, and will form the basis of future activities for members in the region. Leaving the meeting, Peter Spring of Keegan Alexander in Auckland, New Zealand described the meeting as the ‘best yet’ of those that he had attended. The next meeting will be held in Adelaide in September – and there should be much to look forward to.
